Basic FTP Use

Basic File Transfer Guide for Gymgrafx

  • File transfer service is provided to move larger files over the network for use on creative projects.
  • Before sending files used for creative please check the Graphics Submission Guide for more information about file types.
  • Before sending production files please see the Prepress Guide and confirm the sizing of your production.
  • I recommend the use of a FTP Program for file transfers, there are many features of these programs that make them the best choice.
  • Please contact me for user name and password if you have not already received one.
  • If you were sent here by another service provider please contact them directly for the Logon information.
  • The maximum file size for transfer is 1.5GB please do not exceed that total file size.
  • Some "Web Browsers" can support FTP if your browser does support file transfer via FTP click here to logon on - ftp.gymgrafx.com
  • For PC users - if browser has no FTP support;
    Go to >Start >My Computer - when the window opens - enter the address ftp.gymgrafx.com in the address bar at the top of the window - press enter - a logon box should open and you can fill in the other provided information there. This will give access to a folder window to drag your file into. The file transfer may take some time finish please do not close the window until the transfer has completed.
  • For Mac users - please use the FTP program of your choice, where no FTP is loaded you can, if you wish, install a free trial of Fetch http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/ which I am told works well.
