FAQ

Question: How will I receive my proof for review?

Answer: You will receive your proof via email in either of the following ways;

  • Print designs will be proofed as JPG files attached to emails. It is strongly recommended to print proofs for outdoor designs. See Billboard Layout Proofing Guide for more details. When the design is completed print ready production files will be delivered to a printer for production.
  • Web pages will be links to gymgrafx.com client's area for a test page to review in your browser. With completed web design files the client will need to provide logon access to their web server for file upload and page testing.
Question: Can you accept credit card payments or on line payments?

Answer: I am sorry but not at this time, all payment would be by check money order or cash.

Question: I can logon to the FTP through my browser but when I drag my file into the window either the download does not start or it seems to take no time to complete.

Answer: The browser you are using most likely does not support FTP transfer. For PC, Go to >Start >My Computer - when the window opens - enter the address ftp.gymgrafx.com in the address bar at the top of the window - press enter - a logon box should open and you can fill in the other provided Logon information there. This will give access to a folder window to drag your file.

Question: When using the "My Computer" method a box pops up with you cannot logon anonymously or  user not known before you add the User Name and Password.

Answer; Your computer is trying to log you on anonymously, common with Windows XP.

In your 'My Computer' window on the top menu; Go To Click > File > "Change Logon", or "Logon As..." depending on Windows version, this will open a logon box, from there you can ad the provided 'User Name' and 'Password' to logon.

Question: I have tried both the browser and My Computer but I cannot move my file.

Answer: In some cases the computer you are using may have been set up to not allow FTP transfers in the methods described on this site. If that is the case I do not recommend making changes to your computer settings unless you are a qualified computer technician.

Instead please do a web search for a trial version of an FTP program to send the file. These trials are free and can be removed from your system later if you do not wish to keep the program.

  • Download and install the FTP program of your choice, and follow that program's guide to set up and transfer files.
  • Please be sure your systems meets the programs requirements before installing.

For other options, there are a few File Transfer Services that give you different ways to move the large file.

Question: Where do I get the Logon information?

Answer: The logon information and Prepress Guide is provided to clients by request or from your original service provider that sent you here to upload files.

Question: I have a Mac, how do I transfer files to the FTP.

Answer: The best method of file transfer is via a file transfer program, Mac users please use a FTP program. Free trials of FTP programs like 'Fetch'  http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/ which I am told works well.

Question: The Prepress Guide has no information about file sizing, where do I find to correct information?

Answer: Production file size is very important to the machinery of the printer.

  • Exact sizing for your job should have been provided by the original service provider.
  • Often a template is supplied that can be used as a guide for the designer.
  • If the original service provider is Gymgrafx you would have received the sizing information by email. Please contact me if this information was not included. Email your questions to gym@gymgrafx.com
  • If your original service provider is another please contact them for the required sizing information and or templates.
